It’s important we wear our mask and here’s why. In most cases, you may or may not have the virus, but you can spread it to someone else. The mask is for you and the other person if you should be a carrier. It’s not mandatory, but it’s the polite and moral thing to do when in crowds of people with small children, elderly family members and disabled individuals.

Paul Laurence Dunbar (June 27, 1872–February 9, 1906) was an American Black poet, novelist, and playwright of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, born in Dayton, Ohio.

The poem is referring to the secrets we keep, the shame we feel, the pride, the lies we tell, the burdens we bear, the hopes and dreams of all human beings. Lit2Go is a place for Authors

We Wear the Mask

We wear the mask that grins and lies.
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,—
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts, we smile.
And mouth with myriad subtleties.

Why should the world be over-wise?
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
       We wear the mask.

We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;
But let the world dream otherwise,
       We wear the mask!

Things you can do to relieve pandemic stress

Facing your fears with courage is a key factor. Go to your clinic appointments and boost your immune system. Listening to music helps with stress management and getting the proper rest and eating for your dietary needs.

Imagine other alternatives with each life scenario. Don’t worry about things. You have zero control. Think positive and focus on your goals set, work around barriers. Try to stay ahead of your problems by thinking ahead and coming up with ideas for solid solutions.

Surround yourself with persons having a positive mindset and outlook on life. Starting a new saving account will relieve stress. People feel less stressed when they have the money to cover their everyday needs. Sky’s the limit, so save away or create as many savings as you like.

People who look towards a bright future would not be saving money if they didn’t hope to be present. Face each fear with a positive mental attitude, with statistical facts or data, learn thru adversity and challenges.

Create new self image and challenges. With each key point mentioned, take one day at a time. Don’t spend your time thinking about all the bad things that might happen to you. Don’t spend your time plotting and planning ways to make sure these things will never happen.
